I have no idea what videogame character Ai is supposed to be but, based on that standee on stage with her, it was a role she was born to play

if you haven't picked up the Super7 producer Super Shogun Stormtrooper yet, hopefully this will finally convince you to....S7 recently produced this clip for the Super Shogun that spoofs or should I say pays homage to the original Jumbo Machinder commercials of the 70s

got my Super7 produced Super Shogun Stormtrooper in the mail today..got it a few days before the official release but that's because I'm an impatient bastard and did the "early bird" pre-order back in March
this is the box it was shipped out in..pretty fauckin sick but I was kinda disappointed in that it was all scuffed up and had the shipping labels on in..I mean its such a well done design that I would've preferred to of received it in minty mint condition
here's the cover art of the box..again its an amazing design..very reminiscent of the old Popy Jumbo Machinder boxes from the 70's and the Uni-Five repro jumbo figures that were released in the early 2000's
the unboxing...tis the first time me gaze upon this with me very own peepers..twas quite a sight.aaarrrrr

Super7 really went all out on this ..nothing half-assed went into making this toy..really taking into account the details of the actual Stormtrooper design and the features of the original Shogun Warrior toys..I mean its faucking shoots its fist just like the old Godzilla Jumbo!
and here it is, unboxed and ready to shoot its blaster at you or punch you in the face
would you believe that little Kaws Stormtrooper is worth more than the Super Shogun Stormtrooper?..and that Kaws one don't do shit!
had to make a little space on my already overcrowded shelf for him but...something tells me I'm gonna have to make even more room

HOLY SHIT!!! they're gonna make the Fett-man next!!! crossing my fingers they'll have a proto or maybe concept designs at the Super7 booth next month at SDCC

good ol' Craig recently posted this clip on my fb page and it reminded me that I recently got some packages in the mail...
first up is this beauty...2ft tall Tetsujin 28 by Inspire straight outta japan...
sumbitch is HUGE and sexy...fits right at home with the classic Jumbo Machinders aka Shogun Warriors
no doubt what makes this figure kickass is the removeable werewolf mask..so now your dream of reenacting this incredible scene can come true
and finally, because I like to support the local arts....
picked this print up from Gallery1988....Eric Tan's "The Final Battle" which pays homage to the infamous Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas match at the Tokyo Dome back in Feb 1990

besides their instruments, each figure comes with several interchangeable hands, 2 additional faces, different pair of shoes and an extra bag, guitar cases for the 2 guitar players and a small school bag for the other 2 girls.......Max Factory recently released an Azusa Nakano figma figure(she plays guitar as well) so I'll have to get my hands on that one ASAP..once I do, it'll be like having my very own mini SCANDAL(plus a keyboardess) sitting on my desk! which by the way, is the main reason i got these figures

Tatsunoko vs Capcom vs Langdon
this is a lesson in patience cuz I sure need to learn how to use it...Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Cross Generation Heroes came out in Japan back in 08...thinking that it would NEVER be released out here in the US, I dropped a decent amount of money to order the import copy from an overseas seller....did a software hack on my Wii and bam, I could play overseas games BUT since my hack can't keep up with the constant firmware updates that Nintendo puts out, I can't play new releases unless I want to disable the hack(there are newer hacks that are supposed to work with the updates but the updates are to constant and I'm too lazy to keep up)
then at last years E3, Capcom officially announces that the game will be released here in the US under the name Ultimate All Stars(on Jan 26th)..so now I can play newer games as well as Tatsunoko vs Capcom without having to do constant hacks, there's no real difference between the JP release and the US release aside from a few new characters for the american market so my import copy will now just sit on my shelf as a bit of a trophy where I can say "oh yeah, well I have the import version!" to fellow gamers............but I still needed some arcade/fight sticks to really enjoy the game(thank you mr. eriku)...with only mock ups and rumors that Madcatz was planning to release official fightsticks for the Wii, I jumped on ebay and bought a pair of the arcade sticks that capcom(?) released in japan a few years back at a reasonable price..my impatience at work.....AND week after I made the purchase, Madcatz made the announcement that they were indeed releasing an official Tatsunoko vs Capcom fightstick that wasn't gonna cost me an arm and a leg to own..faucking bastards..
they were considerably smaller and lighter than the Streetfighter arcade sticks that Madcatz released but got the job done..the joystick felt the same but the buttons just didn't have the same "spring back" action and because of its lighter weight, shit tends to move around during intense battles which doesn't happen with the Madcatz sticks
and wouldn't you know it, the buttons on one of the jp controllers I bought stopped working!! sonofabitch...lucky for me, the seller was willing to offer me a full refund but I had to send him back the controller, unlucky for me, he lives in japan and shipping to japan ain't cheap!
wasn't planning to buy it but what could I do?..have only one Tatsunoko vs Capcom fightstick?!!..shiiiiiiit, you're trippin....so I headed to ebgames, it was sold out! so I then went to the other ebgames that was basically across the street(why on earth they had 2 ebgames within walking distance of each other, let alone 3 in one city, is beyond me) and they had one left...AND of course I bought it

now THIS is a well made fightstick, big and sturdy..i'm not gonna get into details of what parts are inside, that's eriku's department but I will say, shit is sexy as fauck!...not sure if you can tell from the pics above, but the cover plate as a bit of a rough surface, like it has a non-slip surface so gamers sweaty ass hands won't be a hindrance during gameplay...
In closing, take it from Langdon, don't be an ass and try showing some restraint from time to time...THE END?

SUGOI!!!
Motorcycle Helmet Hikaru Ichijou Type ~ Macross *Preorder*
"A rare find, this is a wonderful life size motorcycle helmet designed after Veritech fighters from the Macross movie "Do you Remember Love." Made of ABS protective material, it is a free size for those 58-60 cm (22.8 - 23.6 inches). Created by one of Japan's top helmet manufacturing company Tachibana Blower and is designed specifically to replicate the look and feel of the anime when you wear it. A cool piece of Japanese anime indeed. This specific design is the Red and White Teru Ichijou type.
Scheduled for release in February 2010"

as hot and sexy this would make me look riding around on my Bonnville, I'm gonna have to pass and pray to jeebus that Tachibana Blower has plans on releasing a Maximilian Jenius(Max Sterling) or a Roi Fokkā(Roy Fokker) motorcycle helmet too..I always wanted to be Skull Leader
EDIT......so there IS a Roy Fokker motorcycle helmet being released as well

AND there is or they already did release a "flight jacket" too

my latest Celga box recently arrived and I couldn't be happier..I believe I mentioned them before but just incase you forgot, celga is a proxy service that helps you bid on yahoo auctions jp as well as purchase stuff from japan based websites that normally don't ship to the US..no, its not free, you do have to pay for their services as well has a bunch of other "fees" but I think its totally worth. I've been able to find a TON of stuff on yahoo jp that I couldn't find on ebay, that I've been looking for a LONG time and at dirt cheap prices, as well as ordering jp exclusive merch from various websites(santastic, onspotz, cap collector, ect...)
*the elusive Santastic exclusive Hasheem Monchichi that I've been trying to get my hands on for the past 6 years!! AND I didn't have to break the bank, that's not to say I found him really cheap but I did get him for alot less than he previously sold for
*Medicom 12in Merra from Tokyo Tribe2, got him for about $100 cheaper that what he currently sells for on ebay
*Garada K7 and Mazinger vinyl figs from Marmit
* a bunch of Yomiuri Giants vinyl banks, I think I paid less than 20 bucks total for all of them..super cheap and super kakkoii!!
more Tokyo Tribe goodness
and even more Tokyo Tribe goodness

Rhythm Heaven
I picked up the Tsunku produced Rhythm Heaven, aka Rhythm Tengoku Gold in Japan, for the Nintendo DS recently and I have to say, its a really good game and pretty hard to put down once you start...my only complaint is that the jpop songs that they translated for the american audience just sound off....a perfect example:
think I might have to pick up the jp version......oh and peep Tsunku talking about the game at IGN and Wired Magazine
and now the original version:
AND the live version:

yes, the sumbitch is freakin HUGE
this is only the 3rd KAWS piece I have in my collection, the other 2 being the SantasticxKaws Hasheem figure and the Kaws Trooper. The stuff KAWS releases, are typically pretty damn hard to get unless you pick them up on the secondary market and even then, you'll likely be paying 4x the retail price, if you're lucky. By chance, I was able to get the OriginalFake Companion 1000% Be@rbrick off of the Kawsone website for retail.
