Diggin' In The Crates "Look What I Brought Back From New York" Edition

The Virgin Megastore location on Broadway is in danger of closing due to a rent dispute with their landlord, so myself, my fiancee, and some friends of ours met up recently at Virgin for a day running amuck in Union Square, Soho, and the East Village, hitting up S'mac, Burritoville, and Babycakes before starting to go our separate ways near the end of the evening.

With that as our cue, my fiancee and I headed for Virgin to do at least one more run through there. Well, I did, anyway - she just stood there like the patient woman that she is...

I did get a couple of CD's but my main intent was the classical section (caught up on my opera shiznit) and hitting Virgin's vinyl section, where I took the opportunity to get the following nourishment for my turntable:


Alkaline Trio Agony & Irony (Epic) - 180-gram LP with free mp3 download. Damn good album.


Bob Dylan Bringing It All Back Home (Sundazed/Columbia) - 180-gram reissue of the mono mix, to go with the copy of Highway 61 Revisited from the same folks.


Coldplay Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends (Capitol) - 180-gram edition with bonus CD enclosed. My fellow Cancerian Vee has been raving about this album, and her recommendations carry a lot of weight with me.

And, not purchased in New York, but actually gained Monday afternoon via snail mail because pre-ordering from American indie labels has its privileges, like getting new albums in the mail before most people can go to the store and buy them:
