Kim Yung Mok working the grill yesterday. He decided to do what we call "whiteboy ribs", I guess they could be "blackboy ribs" too either way it's not usually how we prepare BBQ. Now I get down on the grill but the way Kim smoked them bad boys yesterday I had to admit that he knew what the hell he was doing. He says it was the first time he tried this & he went off of pure instinct. There is no "boiling of the ribs" bullshit going down here!
1. Removing the membrane from the ribs
2. Application of dry rub.
3. Mesquite smoking the ribs for 3.5 hours with a mop sauce consisting of dijon mustard, vinegar & salt.
4. Finishing the ribs with KC Masterpiece sauce then setting the sauce over open flame.
Them shits came out nice with a smoke ring & everything. We didn't eat rice yesterday but went with BBQ beans, grilled corn & garlic mashed potatoes. Kim also did up hot links as you can see, along with a tri tip.
Combine with beer & there's no wonder I took 3 shits so far today.

Fresh off the DJ Sara & Ryusei post....
Actually none of us bum-outs that live in the bay can take an ounce of credit for the Legendary DJ Qbert but sometimes I do refer to the Bay/Cali as a dope DJ breeding ground, no disrespect, I just call it how I see it.
There is no doubt that DJ Qbert is definitely one of our hometown heroes. It's funny bumping into him while out & about. The last time I saw him he was eating dinner with his girl a couple booths down from me & Cabraru at Lucky Chances in Daly City. I remember he hollered at my ex-girlfriend Glynnis back in the day & asked for her number. How could I be mad at that? Hell, take the bitch Q, I'd gladly sell the dude one of my daughters for the bargain price of $0 dollars & .00 cents.
You see him around like a regular dude but he's like revered in the DJ world as a god & tours all over the world. You can't front on his skills & if you've ever watched an episode of the old Turntable TV you know his sense of humor is right up our alley.
So check out this interview on Tokyo FM with DJ Qbert, it's cool to see a local boy done good!

My partner Dave has been traveling all over Norcal doing these "urbal inspiration" vids with his boy qwar (hope I spelled that right).
Anyways while urbal is bizness to me, to Dave it means much more, he came up with the concept & logo & it is no doubt his baby.
When Dave thought up urbal the basic concept for the line was being able to do you no matter where you are on this planet so-called Earth. The urbal line could be rocked with anything else you had in your wardrobe. If you were from the sunny meadows or the hood. If you listened to punk rock or Hip Hop. If you rode a skateboard or the train to work it was all good. You could do what you do & be fly.
Dave is inspired by many different things, hip hop, pop culture, skateboarding, etc etc...so with these PVs Dave wanted the people that rock urbal to express what inspired them. Pretty much all of the vids in the first batch feature hip hop & R&B artists from the Bay Area & Sacramento.

Courtesy of the homey Brigidope, who likes to rock parties when he's not harassing k-9s. When he's not behind the turntables, he can be found behind the counter at B-Side.
Don't look at me. It's not my collection.

Irish word for fun/enjoyment that has been brought into the English language. usu. when mixed with alcohol and/or music.
'Bhi craic agus ceol againn' : We had fun and music.
Fun doesn't really cut it though. General banter, good times had by all.
Also, a person who is good fun/great company.
It was great craic.
She's great craic when she gets going.
He's great craic when he has a few pints on him.
What's the craic?
How's the craic?
The craic was mighty.
Note: Very tricky to get away with saying this in the US without getting strange looks [from] police officers.
This commercial gives me a raging hard-on too.
Why would a kick-ass anime have such a horrible theme song?
I got a serious full fledged boner while reading Gacha Gacha yesterday. The cold part about it was I was reading this manga while I was on my lunch break sitting in my car. That's the first time that happened, it was kinda funny.
I was reading volume 2 at the time so beware! DO NOT READ THIS MANGA UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE A RAGING BONER IN YOUR SHORT PANTS!
"I want to meet a girl, like the one's in romantic comic books" -My Sassy Girl
I know this might sound gay but I actually prefer romantic comic books. For the same reasons why I like doramas. It gives me my dose of lovin' minus having to deal with all the B.S..
I actually went on a date last week, your standard dinner & a movie, & I could not wait to get home so I could play Yakuza on PS2. Now that's kinda sad but it says alot I guess. For starters I'm not really into the girl. I think I go on dates to keep my social skills sharp & to prove that I'm not a flamer. Now I have yet to be knocked off of my feet by a real life girl since .....well.....Jennice. That has a lot to do with it too.
"Embarrassment will get you nowhere" -Genshiken
I was really really embarrassed when Nana was serialized in Shojo Beat & in order for me to keep up on what was going on with Nana (until the manga was finally released here) was to buy the gayest looking magazine on the rack. Man that was really embarrassing. I get that way. Sometimes I make someone else buy stuff for me cause I'm too embarrassed. Like the time I made Hikaru buy my Morning Musume Cds because I didn't want the cute girl in the store to see me buying them. Or when I make Cabraru buy magazines at Kinokuniya for me because I don't want the cute chicks in the store to think I'm a pervert.
Anyways some other comic favorites of mine are: Love Roma, A Perfect Day For Love Letters, Nana, Tokyo Boys & Girls, & Yotsubato. Friends have bought me other titles as gifts such as Sakura Taisen & Juvenile Orion etc. but I'm really not into that stuff. I like romantic comics better.

I opened my window a little bit, just enough to hear what he had to say...
"'Ey...could you use 46-inch plasma TV?"
Man, who COULDN'T use a 46-inch plasma? And, probably at a "discounted" rate. Unfortunately, I was too dumbfounded to process this amazing gift from the heavens and told him, "...nah, I'm good."
