The updated Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland is pretty awesome. Characters from the PotC movies are seen throughout the ride (Jack Sparrow, Barbosa, Davey Jones). The details are amazing and the animatronic characters look real and border on being erie-looking.
The scene shown above is one of the new ones. It's got pirates all lined up along the docks singing, "Yo, ho, ho..." as your boat floats by. It's all very cheery.
One thing that you might miss, however, is what's happening in the background. If you look closely, you'll see buildings are burning--as if the pirates had just pillaged the town (possibly).
On the opposite shore of the above scene (not pictured) there are more pirates singing and more buildings burning. And right before you exit this area, if you look to the burning buildings on the right, you can see a menorah in a window that has been tipped over! Did the pirates just burn up some Jewish family? (someone check to make sure Weinstein is okay...)
It seems like the Imagineers of this new PotC wanted to give a tip of the hat to Walt Disney's darker side...

Beastie Boys Rock Hard 12"
(Def Jam DJ002)
The second-ever Def Jam 12" (LL Cool J's "I Need A Beat" was the first), and the first one the Beasties did as a full-time rap band. At this time, Def Jam, was being run out of Rick Rubin's NYU dorm room, and Rubin was doing double duty as both producer and the Beasties' live DJ (under the pseudonym "Double R"). Of course, it's Ad-Rock, MCA and Mike D on lead vocals, and Rubin playing most of the instruments as well as playing the role of the indignant producer on "Party's Getting Rough".
Producers: Rick Rubin and Beasties
Recording Engineer: Mark Kamins
Mixers: Jay Burzootie, Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin
Mastered by Herbie "Boom Boom" Powers at Frankford-Wayne, New York.

Oh, yeah, it's sooooo on! Got my leave approved & once again Yumi Chan is gracious enough to let her boy crash at the mansion for a week while I run amuck in Tokyo.
June 21, 2008 - June 28, 2008
Some of the Tokyo crew & some new peeps Yumi Chan met in Singapore are heading out to Thailand this summer.
Now I'm trying my hardest to get the time off for the June trip, but the real challenge is if I get to go to Thailand, how are me & Kenji gonna sneak away from the group to see a little of the "forbidden Thailand"....dozo.

Before we went in me & Kim killed 2 large bottles of Sapporo & a bottle of Soju.
Once inside the drinking continued until I was in the front of the crowd jumping up & down licking imaginary shots while the 2 Japanese reggae singer rapper dudes rocked the crowd.
The ratio was fucked. I would say 4-5 spicy tuna hand rolls to 1 steamed pork bun. But this I will say. I would have turned down NOT A ONE, every breezie in the venue was worth a damn.
More drinking. Soju. Biru. Cognac. Kim starts talking to the manager of the lounge where the party was held at (Pebble Roppongi). Next thing you know manager san is handing me a glass of Remy, I held my breath & swallowed the whole glass.
No numbers unfortunately. Actually I take that back. I got the numbers of the two DUDES that were reggae rap singing. The next morning when I looked at my cell phone puzzled Kim filled me in that I had their numbers because I signed them to a recording contract. Oh shitzu.
After the party I briefly remember yelling at Cabraru in between bites of T-Bone steak & eggs at Dennys. After that all I remember is waking up in the backseat of my SUV in the parking lot of Pebble Roppongi at 5:30 a.m.. It was a long 80 mile drive home my friends.
Santa Inoue and KAWS also did a collabo on a shirt that will be released the same day at $54...the white tee will be a Santastic exclusive with the black tee only selling on the OriginalFake website.

When I was at a radio station-sponsored multi-artist concert (WMMR's "MMRBQ") back in September, I swear to god that at least 75% of the people there were not there to see any of the artists.
Apparently Tori Amos has had enough of this kind of shit and is standing her ground against it now. Good for her.
If you're not at a concert to see the artist, what are you there for?
this last pic is absolutely THE BEST...look closely and you'll know why

40% of Japanese men sit down to pee, survey shows
About 40 percent of adult Japanese men sit on the toilet to urinate -- a staggering figure almost three times the number recorded in 1999 -- according to a survey by Western-style toilet manufacturer Matsushita Electric Works Ltd.
The survey of 518 men and an identical number of women whose ages ranged from their 30s to 50s showed that the younger the man, the more likely he is to sit down while peeing instead of the traditional method of standing up.
The 40 percent of men who sit while urinating is almost three times more than the 15 percent of men who did so when the company first started surveying toilet habits in 1999.
"Women hate it when urine sprays, so there appears to be an increasing number who are asking men to sit down on the toilet when they have to go," a Matsushita Electric Works spokesman said.
Matsushita Electric Works noticed the increasing tendency for Japanese men to sit on the toilet while urinating and started three years ago to accommodate the trend in such ways as designing toilet seats with larger holes.
The survey showed that 46 percent of men in their 30s sat while weeing, 38 percent of men in their 40s did so and 37 percent of men in their 50s also followed the trend. Matsushita believes mothers getting their young children to sit on the toilet when they urinate are also getting their partners to adopt the same practice.
