When I was at a radio station-sponsored multi-artist concert (WMMR's "MMRBQ") back in September, I swear to god that at least 75% of the people there were not there to see any of the artists.
Apparently Tori Amos has had enough of this kind of shit and is standing her ground against it now. Good for her.
If you're not at a concert to see the artist, what are you there for?
When I saw The Stooges back in April, Iggy Pop proceeded to break the barrier between performer and audience even more by having people come up on stage and dance with the band for two songs. I didn't get to jump onstage with them, but it was great to see.
