Anti-semites of the Caribbean

The updated Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland is pretty awesome. Characters from the PotC movies are seen throughout the ride (Jack Sparrow, Barbosa, Davey Jones). The details are amazing and the animatronic characters look real and border on being erie-looking.

The scene shown above is one of the new ones. It's got pirates all lined up along the docks singing, "Yo, ho, ho..." as your boat floats by. It's all very cheery.

One thing that you might miss, however, is what's happening in the background. If you look closely, you'll see buildings are burning--as if the pirates had just pillaged the town (possibly).

On the opposite shore of the above scene (not pictured) there are more pirates singing and more buildings burning. And right before you exit this area, if you look to the burning buildings on the right, you can see a menorah in a window that has been tipped over! Did the pirates just burn up some Jewish family? (someone check to make sure Weinstein is okay...)

It seems like the Imagineers of this new PotC wanted to give a tip of the hat to Walt Disney's darker side...

If the pirates didn't, the Spanish did.

Incidentally, I think by the number of candles, that piece is more likely found on top of a harpsichord than lit up at Passover.

actually, the menorah has been there since before the renovations.

Your whole piece is incorrect. The model isn't new, nor is the prop you're referring to.
